Welcome to the PE Department

Every pupil at St Margaret’s Primary School receives at least two hours of Physical Education per week.

Much of the work conducted in Physical Education is done by the school's Visiting Specialist. The specialist teacher liaises with class teachers in order to ensure there is continuity in learning and to relate work to class topics when feasible.

Additional experiences are provided by class teachers, who also encourage learning in other curricular areas through Active Learning tasks that make use of Health and Wellbeing.

Physical Education allows pupils to engage in a diverse range of challenging learning experiences contributing to their physical, social, emotional and mental development.

Pupils throughout the ages and stages will experience a wide range of physical activities to improve their physical movement skills. They will also learn about co-operating, communicating, diet, mental/emotional development and how these factors have an impact on their overall Health and Wellbeing.
