Rights Respecting School Documents

St Margaret's is a Gold Level Rights Respecting School.

Under the UNCRC children’s rights are unconditional and not dependent on race, background, behaviour, gender. They are also legally binding in international law.

They focus primarily on what adults should be proving for children, how they should be protected and involved in decisions about their lives.

When we consider children’s rights we place an emphasis on wellbeing, pupil participation and pupil voice, building up positive relationships and children’s self-esteem and self-worth.

Staff work with pupils to help them develop an understanding of their rights and what this means for them.
